Meet Miss "M" ...

I've said it before, but it bears repeating: we really do have the most beautiful clients in Detroit!

Case in point: meet Miss "M."  We photographed  M and her family last year, but my oh my how things have changed! I think that she is absolutely stunning. In fact, M is the new face of our tweens/young teens division and you will see a lot more of her on our  portrait website which is set to launch in October.

In the meantime, enjoy just a little sampling of the photos we made last night.

(PS --I must give props to Isaak John, who helped Garrett haul the fabulous chaise to our gorgeous outdoor location. Holla, Isaak!)

Vicki + Scott ...

Vicki and Scott were married last Friday evening at Weller's Carriage House in Saline.

Even the downpour that began mid-ceremony and forced the proceedings into the carriage house couldn't spoil this couple's day.

Vicki wore a beautiful gown trimmed in pink and a pair of the most sparkly pink wedding shoes that I have ever seen. Since she and Scott met while playing pool, they decided to have a their first husband-wife game right after the first dance. They even brought a pool table to Weller's especially for the event!

Congratulations, Scott and Vicki. Thanks so much for allowing us to be a part of your wedding day. Your sneak peek is in the slideshow below.

Marina + Tim ...

We're so far behind on our blogging!

Marina and Tim were married on August 10th in a beautiful ceremony at Weller's Carriage House in Saline. I absolutely loved Marina's pale pink satin wedding gown (we are finally beginning to see colored wedding gowns in the Midwest and I am so glad --the Europeans and Australians are way ahead of us on this wonderful fashion statement.) and we both thought that she and Tim were so very smart to do all of their posed photos before their ceremony. Thanks for waiting so patiently for your sneak peek, Marina and Tim. We've put together a slideshow for you and hope that you'll enjoy it. It was a pleasure to be a part of your day

.

Matt and Andrea ....

Matt and Andrea have been so paitently waiting for their sneak peek. And what have we been doing all this time? Why, weddings, weddings, and more weddings, of course! We know -- we've been very bad bloggers!

We really loved this wedding, too. Andrea, who is a friend of Studio Sinead alumna Stacey Powell,( a gorgeous 2005 bride) put so much thought and attention into the details. Everything was absolutely beautiful. We were also impressed by the closeness and friendship shared by the two families. Matt and Andrea, you are so fabulously lucky to have parents and in-laws who appreciate one another so much! This is such a wonderful blessing for your lives together.

Thank you so much for sharing your wedding day with us. Enjoy your (extra large) sneak peek. Congratulations!

Edited to add: These photos look  bit pixelated on my monitor. Click on the individual images for a better view.

Tagged !!!

Well! Just when you think no one's watching...

After several years of blogging, I have finally been tagged. And by none other than the Divine Davina Fear, no less. I'm totally flattered.

So here's the deal: I'm supposed to tell you eight things that you might not know about me, and then I have to tag someone else.  Here we go:

Bonnie_raitt_fender_stratocaster

1.) Although trained as a classical pianist, I play a mean electric guitar. I think I must have a rock and roll soul.

1a.) I totally "heart" Chrissie Hynde.  Big time.

2.) I am a shy extrovert.

3.) I have cried at nearly every wedding I have ever photographed.  Especially during the father-daughter dance.  Miss you, Daddy...

4.) I used to be quite the jock.  Track and tennis. Where oh where did that girl, go??? Someone please tell her to phone home!

5.) I once cooked dinner for 80 people. In my home. These days, most of my "cooking" is done behind the lens.

6.) Camping. That's a hotel with fewer than four stars, right?

7.) I like to go to the opera. Often and alone.

8.) I have serious addictions to both chocolate and shoes. That's probably not such a secret.

So there you have it.  TMI, no doubt!  If you want to share any of your secrets, the comment box is open and the doctor is in!

I'm tagging:

1.) Jessica Canvasser

2.) Angela Anderson

3.) Jessica Strickland

4.) Jed Taufer

5.) Lena Hyde

Oh and BTW,  that's a photo of a Bonnie Raitt Fender Stratocaster.  Just in case anyone's wondering what I might want for Christmas. :)

Carry on...

Out of the Office ...

It's a two-wedding weekend for us, so we will not be available via telephone until Tuesday.  (Remember -- we're closed on Sundays and Mondays.) E-mail is the best way to contact us. We'll begin answering e-mails on Tuesday morning.

Have a great weekend!

Danielle + Tony ...

Danielle told me these three things that she remembers about the beginning of her relationship with Tony:

They met in a bar.

She approached him.

After their first date, she knew that she wouldn't be dating anyone else.

And yesterday, after many months of planning and a year-long separation caused by their careers, Danielle's eyes filled with tears as she walked down the aisle of The Academy of the Sacred Heart Chapel in Bloomfield Hills and stepped into her new life with the charming Dr. Tony.

We were so pleased to spend the day with Danielle, Tony, and their wonderful and welcoming families.  Danielle looked absolutely amazing in her pale pink satin Monique L'hullier gown which she purchased from Bridal and Formal, Inc.   in Cincinnati. Her makeup --with emphasis on her beautiful eyes -- was by Maria V.

The reception took place in the Atrium at St. Johns, Plymouth , which was aglow with the golden light of hundreds of tiny candles and beautifully accented with floral arrangements from Emerald City Designs.

Congratulations, Danielle and Tony! Thank you so much for allowing us to share your day with you. We look forward to being your neighbors here in Ann Arbor and can't wait to hear all about your trip to St. Lucia. Enjoy your sneak peek!
