Sick . As. A. Dog. . .

Alas. The flu that I thought I got rid of at Christmas is back with a vengeance. I am sick, sick, sick.

I've been in bed for most of this week and I am just exhausted. If you have tried to call or email me, I will be in touch as soon as I can. I have one client (and you know who you are) who needs a special surprise project completed by mid month. I want you to know that we're doing everything we can to accommodate you. For the rest of you, I will be in touch just as soon as I feel a bit better.

Thanks so much for your understanding.

81%How Addicted to Blogging Are You?

Hmm... Just took this little test that I found on California photographer Justine Ungaro's blog. Wonder if I need a twelve-step program...

Are you addicted to blogging? What blogs do you read? Do you have a blog? What!?! And you didn't tell me about it?  The comment box is open. Fess up!

Tagged !!!

Well! Just when you think no one's watching...

After several years of blogging, I have finally been tagged. And by none other than the Divine Davina Fear, no less. I'm totally flattered.

So here's the deal: I'm supposed to tell you eight things that you might not know about me, and then I have to tag someone else.  Here we go:

Bonnie_raitt_fender_stratocaster

1.) Although trained as a classical pianist, I play a mean electric guitar. I think I must have a rock and roll soul.

1a.) I totally "heart" Chrissie Hynde.  Big time.

2.) I am a shy extrovert.

3.) I have cried at nearly every wedding I have ever photographed.  Especially during the father-daughter dance.  Miss you, Daddy...

4.) I used to be quite the jock.  Track and tennis. Where oh where did that girl, go??? Someone please tell her to phone home!

5.) I once cooked dinner for 80 people. In my home. These days, most of my "cooking" is done behind the lens.

6.) Camping. That's a hotel with fewer than four stars, right?

7.) I like to go to the opera. Often and alone.

8.) I have serious addictions to both chocolate and shoes. That's probably not such a secret.

So there you have it.  TMI, no doubt!  If you want to share any of your secrets, the comment box is open and the doctor is in!

I'm tagging:

1.) Jessica Canvasser

2.) Angela Anderson

3.) Jessica Strickland

4.) Jed Taufer

5.) Lena Hyde

Oh and BTW,  that's a photo of a Bonnie Raitt Fender Stratocaster.  Just in case anyone's wondering what I might want for Christmas. :)

Carry on...

Much better, thank you ...

Since so many of you have taken the time to ask about my mother, I think it's time for a little update.

First, please know that we are touched and humbled by your interest.  We truly feel the power of your kind wishes, prayers, thoughts and concern, and we are very, very grateful.

I'm so happy to tell you that mom is making terrific progress.  She has left the hospital and is now in a rehabilitaton/convalescent center where she receives daily therapy. She thinks I should join her for her twice-daily exercise routine! Believe me, I receive that critique in the spirit in which it was given; if she's thinking about my health, then surely she's on the mend.

She is able to get out of bed unassisted and will begin hydrotherapy next week. But best of all, she seems free from the debilitating pain that kept her bed-ridden for most of the last six months. We are very proud of her courage and tenacity and are eagerly awaiting her return home in a few weeks' time.

And thank you so much for asking...

Mom's Surgery -- An Update ...

Just to let everyone know -- my mother made it safely through her surgery yesterday. It will be a little while, though, before we know whether or not the procedure was successful.

Thanks so very much to everyone who called or e-mailed. I cannot tell you how touched my sister and I are. We are just overwhelmed by your thoughts, well wishes, and, most of all, your prayers.

I'm going to try to rest a bit before heading back to the hospital. I hope to be back at work tomorrow. Thanks again to all of you for your support.

A Personal Request ...

I'm leaving in a little while to go and be wih my mother. She is having more back surgery tomorrow.

I would be more grateful than I could ever say if those of you who take the time to read this blog would have a thought, a word, or a prayer for her safe recovery.

Thank you so very much.

BTW: We are normally closed on Monday, anyway, but I wanted to reiterate that I will not be available by phone or email tomorrow. I will answer your emails and calls ASAP, but I do ask for your indulgence. Thank you.
