Stefanie + Matt ...
Sometimes, we really can't believe our good luck.
We ended our 2007 wedding season exactly as we began it: on a crisp Saturday afternoon in the company of a couple who are very much in love.
Matt and Stefanie were married in the ballroom of the Mansion at Pine Knob on Saturday evening.
If you follow this blog, you will realize that this is the second time we've been to Pine Knob in about a month. While we had a gorgeous day for our October wedding, we were quite worried about what surprises Mother Nature might have been keeping in reserve for us for our November visit. We needn't have given it so much thought. The day was gorgeous, the light was beautiful, and Stef and Matt, along with their families, were a joy to be around.
There was much to love here. I could tell you about the shoes; the flowers; the cake ,or the beautiful pearls that Stefanie received from Matt as a wedding gift-- and all of those things were, of course, fabulous -- but what really stood out in our minds was the wonderful love that Stef and Matt share, and their absolute joy in being together. You could hear Stefanie's sparkling laugh in the halls of Pine Knob all afternoon. Matt never seemed to stop smiling, either. And when their pastor read a letter that Matt had written about his feelings for Stefanie, I'm sure there wasn't a dry eye in the house. I have never heard the distinction between loving and being in love expressed so clearly or articulately.
The wedding date was a very significant one for Stefanie: it was the anniversary of several other weddings in her family, including that of her grandmother.
"Everyone who chose this day has had good luck," Stef told me.
It was easy to believe. That same grandmother was present at this wedding and, in addition to being a fabulous dancer, she was as sparkling and vibrant as the bride herself.
And so it was that Stefanie and Matt signed their marriage license in a room where her grandmother's wedding dress, the satin now turned gold with time, stood watch. They had a wonderful day, a wonderful party and we just have a feeling that they are on their way to a wonderful life. For us, it was an absolutely fabulous way to end what has been an already terrific year.
Stefanie and Matt, thanks so much for allowing us to share in the joy of your day. Here's a little glimpse of what we saw:
Kim + Randy ...
Kim and Randy had what was perhaps the last warm day of autumn for their wedding last Saturday.
After their ceremony at St. Dunstan's in Garden City, we braved the heat for photos in Hines Park before going on to the reception at Pine Knob Mansion.
This was the second time in eight weeks that we've photographed a wedding for Randy's family! His older brother, Dr. Tony, was married in August and we had the pleasure of shooting that wedding, too.
We know that you're having a fabulous time in Italy, Randy and Kim, and we thank you for allowing us to be a part of your wedding day. You'll find your sneak peek in the slideshow below. Enjoy!
Megan + Daniel ...
Megan and Daniel were married last weekend at Risen Christ Lutheran Church in Plymouth. Their beautiful fall-themed reception took place in the Grand Ballroom at the Inn at St.John's.
Megan's ultra-fabulous dress: Justin Alexander
Cake: Cake Nouveau, Ann Arbor
Megan and Daniel, thanks so much for allowing us to accompany you on the first step of your grand adventure!
We loved every minute. Your sneak peek is in the slideshow below. Enjoy!
Kristen + Dan: Married!! ...
So many of you have taken the time to tell me how much you enjoyed Kristen and Dan's engagement photos, so I know you'll want to hear all about their wedding, too! They were married Saturday morning at Matthaei Botanical Gardens in a wedding that we thought truly reflected their wonderful and independent style. Things we loved: the bride's beautiful pale gold satin dress with a wonderful lace overlay; buttons from Kristen's great-grandmother's dress incorporated into her bouquet; Dan's vintage wingtips;the bride's lace shawl (she knit it herself, people!!!);the beautiful blue cake, the fact that they are both changing their last names.
We had so much fun with you , Kristen and Dan. Thank you for sharing your beautiful day with us. You will find your sneak peek in the slideshow below.Beth + Dan ...
We traveled to East Lansing yesterday to photograph the wedding of Beth and Dan.
We've been looking forward to their wedding ever since we first met Beth last January. I was so eager to see her chocolate brown and pale blue color palette and I was not disappointed. The blue and brown wedding cake was gorgeous!
Even though we were not allowed close enough to photograph much of the ceremony, we did manage to "sneak" in a few good photos of the kiss! (And we hope that the many guests with point and shoot cameras made good use of them during the service! We think that they did. :) )
Afterwards, we made our way over to the MSU Gardens for some fun couple and wedding party photos. The gardens are always beautiful and it is a real pleasure to photograph there.
Congratulations, Beth and Dan. Thanks so much for allowing us to be a part of your wedding day. Your sneak peek is in the slideshow below.
Vicki + Scott ...
Vicki and Scott were married last Friday evening at Weller's Carriage House in Saline.
Even the downpour that began mid-ceremony and forced the proceedings into the carriage house couldn't spoil this couple's day.
Vicki wore a beautiful gown trimmed in pink and a pair of the most sparkly pink wedding shoes that I have ever seen. Since she and Scott met while playing pool, they decided to have a their first husband-wife game right after the first dance. They even brought a pool table to Weller's especially for the event!
Congratulations, Scott and Vicki. Thanks so much for allowing us to be a part of your wedding day. Your sneak peek is in the slideshow below.
Marina + Tim ...
We're so far behind on our blogging!
Marina and Tim were married on August 10th in a beautiful ceremony at Weller's Carriage House in Saline. I absolutely loved Marina's pale pink satin wedding gown (we are finally beginning to see colored wedding gowns in the Midwest and I am so glad --the Europeans and Australians are way ahead of us on this wonderful fashion statement.) and we both thought that she and Tim were so very smart to do all of their posed photos before their ceremony. Thanks for waiting so patiently for your sneak peek, Marina and Tim. We've put together a slideshow for you and hope that you'll enjoy it. It was a pleasure to be a part of your day

Matt and Andrea have been so paitently waiting for their sneak peek. And what have we been doing all this time? Why, weddings, weddings, and more weddings, of course! We know -- we've been very bad bloggers!
We really loved this wedding, too. Andrea, who is a friend of Studio Sinead alumna Stacey Powell,( a gorgeous 2005 bride) put so much thought and attention into the details. Everything was absolutely beautiful. We were also impressed by the closeness and friendship shared by the two families. Matt and Andrea, you are so fabulously lucky to have parents and in-laws who appreciate one another so much! This is such a wonderful blessing for your lives together.
Thank you so much for sharing your wedding day with us. Enjoy your (extra large) sneak peek. Congratulations!
